The Digital Cinema Society are a non-profit organisation dedicated to education and the distribution of information in relation to digital motion picture production. As part of their activities, they provide streamed access to information events and presentations from industry professionals hosted by the Society. All are available here. I have to be honest, the web site needs some work, BUT, the content is excellent...and unique.
Two particular favourites of mine have been Philip Hodgetts' (CEO Intelligent Assistance) presentation on Streaming, Compression for the Internet and Web Distribution and Blue and Greenscreen Compositing with Bob Kertesz (Ultimatte) and Steve Wright.
The brainchild of Brett Gaylor, Open Source Cinema is a collaborative documentary project which aims to produce a film about copyright in a digital age. Intriguing questions like "is culture a product?" and "will the next generation ever settle for anything less than free?" are put forward for collaborative investigation and evaluation.
